Carpet Tips

  1. Use color for long time appearance retention.
  2. Match color depth and tone to local soil conditions.
  3. Use multi-color or multi-tone for soil hiding in high traffic areas.
  4. Multicolor and patterned styles in earth tone shades will mask soiling.
  5. Choose colors that are similar to the color of the soil expected to enter the building.
  6. Most tracked in soil is brownish yellow to gray.
  7. Problem areas for carpet: Hotel entrance, elevator entrance, restaurant kitchen entrance, transition areas from carpet to floor, etc.
  8. Light colors should only be used as accents, not as the main colors.
  9. Entrance mats are very important to help keep carpeting throughout the hotel clean. Go to Maintenance Tab and see under Preventative Maintenance>Entrance Mats.
  10. 95% of problems with commercial carpet involve: light to medium gray and light to medium blue carpets with soiling issues.
